Often when there is no knowledge about a concept in a society, then many misconceptions arise from it, similarly misconception is also prevalent in our society regarding aghora.Aghora sect is full of many stories and stories, in the society Aghora sect is being seen with fear and blind faith, but when we read the scriptures of Tantra then we find that the knowledge of Aghora comes from Lord Shiva only, then it is surprising that if Aghora sect comes from Lord Shiva himself then how can it be wrong.Aghora system is divine because the one who gave it, Lord Shiva himself is divine. And among the various paths to attain God, one path is also that of aghora, aghora does not only mean meditating in the cremation ground or consuming meat and alcohol while this path is much better than that.
There can be many definitions of Aghora but nobody has been able to understand Aghora properly, because it is considered to be the ultimate secret practice, it can be understood well only by a practitioner of Aghora sect, who has been initiated into Aghora sect. When any Tantrik or Aghora practitioner takes the Tantric practices in the cremation ground to the extreme limits in which mostly cremation ground rituals take place, it is called Aghora in a way.Aghora is a practice of tantric sect, which is considered to be the ultimate secret, although all tantric practices have strict rules but Aghora is such a tantric practice or sadhna in which rules are considered to be very strict because it can have harmful effects as well, in which due to most of the cremation ground activities, a mistake on this path is punished very severely. In which the practitioner can also die, therefore on this path only a true spiritual master can protect his disciple, and the spiritual master should be such that he should have full capability that he can handle the mistakes of his disciple, and can protect the disciple.
Our aim is not to scare anyone but to uncover the secrets of the Aghora, and if we talk about the cremation ground then all kinds of negative forces like ghosts, spirits, demons etc. are found there. But there is a real aim of aghori, which is the goddess Kali and Lord Shiva who residing in the cremation ground, and doing one’s spiritual practice and worship for their attainment only. The path of aghora is not bad because on this path many practitioners, tantriks and aghoris have achieved accomplishment of god.
But yes, in the past few decades it has been misused by some tantrik practitioners, that is why the reputation of aghora has deteriorated in the society, because all aghora practitioners cannot be same, everyone has different intentions towards their practice or sadhna, but as we know all tantriks, aghora practitioners are not same while some can be true worshippers of goddess kali. They worship Goddess Devi as the mother who gave them birth. They keep all their practices and themselves also absolutely secret, because their practices or sadhana is a bit scary, hence their aim is not to scare the people of the society. That is why the practitioners of Aghora keep themselves away from the society, somewhere in the jungle or in the cremation ground.
And in Bhagwat Geeta whose teacher or guru is lord Krishna himself. In chapter 14, verse-5, Lord Krishna says that Material nature has three qualities from which it is created.
–‘sattvaṁ rajas tama iti guṇāḥ prakṛti-sambhavāḥ/
nibadhnanti mahā-bāho dehe dehinam avyayam”//
(translation- Material nature consists of three modes – sattva (goodness), rajas (passion), and tamas (ignorance). When the eternal living entity comes in contact with nature, O mighty-armed Arjuna, he becomes conditioned by these modes)
The three qualities of nature such as Satvik Guna(goodness), Rajasik Guna(passion) and Tamsik Guna(ignorance) are the factors from which the whole nature and man are made.
These three qualities are also found in humans, Satvik(goodness), Rajasik(passion) and Tamsik(ignorance). The attainment of God by people of all these different natures is due to their different natures.
Because they worship God due to his special nature, for example in Satvik nature(goodness) people worship the gentle and loving form of God and in the same way they worship Him as well, Whereas people of rajsik(passion) and tamsik(ignorance) nature worship only the fearful but mercyfull form of God, because they are attracted towards only such form while that God is one, they just try to reach God through different paths.
Out of the satvik(goodness), rajsik(passion) and tamsik(ignorance), the people who are of tamsik(ignorance) nature often like to do the sadhna of vammargh(left hand path of worship) or aghora, in which panchmakara is used in the worship,(panchmakara) In which wine, fish and meat are used during worship.
All of them perform animal sacrifice along with the worship of the cremation ground. The aim is to please the God, it is like sacrificing your most beloved object, just like offering of alcohol to the lord bhairava (God of death). People with tamsik(ignorance) nature are more attracted to such worship because they are of similar nature.
This is called Vamachara method,In which wine, fish and meat are used during worship.
and the devotees who come to the Agora attain the Goddess from this method only because it is said that through this one attains the Goddess and attains accomplishment very quickly, but I do not know how much truth is there in this, because I do not understand whether any Goddess would be happy with the sacrifice or murder of the life created by her.
Goddess mother is pleased only with love and devotion from the true heart because Goddess has given us everything, she is the ultimate power of this world and knows the world, after all what can we give her.Goddess mother is the nurturer of all. She can never see her children in need.
A true devotee prays to Goddess mother for everyone’s prosperity, whether they are human beings, birds or animals etc. Just as all children are equal for a mother, we are all equal for Goddess mother.
Just as a mother nurtures her child in her womb, similarly goddess mother nurtures everyone in the womb of this world,
for which we are all indebted.
